Snakes and Gardens

Since we didn't get a chance to complete the driving loop yesterday, we decided to get an early morning jump on things to see the first snake show of the morning at the snake farm. I wasn't terrible excited about it but Leo was and Sony was indifferent. So here we go...

This guys snubbed his nose at me and turned his back to me with a bit of a "humpf" as he did it!

Look closely...can you see all the snakes in the tree?

Leo said these bunnies were fed to the snakes. Nah, I don't think so.

And so the mighty snake show began! In this simple setting the master of ceremonies started off with recorded music increasing and decreasing the volume when appropriate, in his "Vegas" style act. Entertaining. Kind of kitschy too but amusing.

This snake trainer seemed to be the master, handling the most dangerous of all the snakes. The king cobra.

Leo was pleased especially since he had a story of his own after seeing a king cobra on Ko Chang island while on a motorbike ride.

Then the mighty Python...

Sony was first up. She made some pretty funny sounds and faces but did her duty in showing the flats!

Leo was all smiles, loving every second of wrapping the python around himself even trying to get the trainers to let him hold it's mouth.

Sony and I laugh at this photo. He looks pretty darn beefy and manly, huh?

Yea, I was a little freaked out but after a lot of encouragement, well not really positive encouragement, more like threatening regrets from Sony, I succumbed to the pressure...

And it was fine, until the snake begun to constrict to what might feel like a
choking that would never stop...

Then came these fast moving guys that every once in awhile when thrown around were over the barriers...on purpose I'm sure.

Seriously?

The racer snake

Kisses, really?

Enough of the snakes! Now on to the botanical gardens. But first a self portrait of the three of us!
