Mega marketing on a Sunday afternoon

Have you shopped for groceries in a foreign country on a Sunday afternoon? Add to that after an early morning excursion, changing accommodation, it's hot and you feel like you're melting!

If you shopped in an Italian grocery super store like Il Gigante then you will know exactly what I mean. The Italians drive the carts as if they were on the road. Funny really.

What I found amusing...

Pigs in a blanket?

Okay the corn, I get but the other, no idea...

Fish balls, or fish wieners...

Dried fish and shrimp below

And all the Thai noodles you LOVE in you favorite dishes...

And of course, fresh, fresh seafood!

And for Consumer Packed Goods guys heres what I found on the shelf

Since we already had sweet Thai basil and nori seaweed chips in the cart, next time we'll try these!

Bargain shopper found this water for 9 baht!

The supermarket was called Tesco much like a WalMart superstore. No doubt we'll be back in these next three weeks. Having been on the road for the last 18 months has become quite the bargain hunter so truly, I was back seat all the way on this one!

  1. I went to Tesco in England, but the offerings were, uh, different. :)
