Icelandic style

Icelandic style is cool, sleek and streamlined.  Simple and understated.  Clean lines.

Another day in town, though today - the sun was out! COLD and BRISK though I understand it gets much, much colder.  Today I could see the water and Mount Esja which is not a single mountain but a volcanic mountain range made from basalt and tuff.  I didn't know we were so close to the water!

Met Trib and Nandita at breakfast, from New Jersey - who travel the world over and spoke of their 45 days "around the world" trip in the last couple of years.  They hope to get to Hawaii in the next couple of years.

The taxi drivers have been incredible wealth of information.  Where to eat.  Not to get sucked into the idea of seeing the Northern Lights with the low cloudy weather.

Hallgrimskirkaja is a strikingly modern Lutheran church both interior and exterior.

High vaulted ceilings yet simple details everywhere.

These two buildings are across from one another.
Tradition and eclectic.

Old town streets...
Vikings are coming!

Huh? Chuck Norris GRILL?
