Closed my eyes for a few minutes trying to acclimate to this time zone when the view outside caught my attention. From 35,000 feet the terrain below is absolutely breathtaking like nothing I’ve seen before. The mountains, one after another, alternate peaks to the horizon as far as you can see showing themselves through the low fog rather mysteriously, hauntingly, magnificently. I wanted to reach for my camera but decided instead the computer. With headphones tuned to Taiwanese Tunes – Celine Dion meets Boyz to Men – eyes closed I write from my heart and memory. Experimenting here, go with it. Music in any language inspires.

Now playing: Taiwanese soft rap with certain lines in English: wish you love, wish you health, with a smile and a hug…I have to go, cause I love you so. Nice to meet you. I’m very happy that I’ve met you in my life…I wish you love, hope to see you again. Goodbye

more islands...getting close! |
The journey is an enormous gift. As my contract with Starbucks was coming to an end it was a perfect opportunity to travel beyond my initial weeks to Turkey & Egypt extending potentially to Central and Southeast Asia. Malaysian and Indonesian Borneo, Brunei, Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos were of interest. There were some challenges around timing, availability of treks, retreats, and the issue of being a lone female traveler but I kept researching until the DAY before my end date while having lunch with an Indonesia born new partner. She mentioned there was a partner owned Balinese villa for rent on the partner portal! I quickly emailed the owner, asked of its availability, if we can meet for coffee then immediately connected with Jody! Mesmerized by her energy and love for this island, the people, the culture captured my heart instantly. That is how I find myself in Bali for this next month.
