The Destination - how it all starts

It might start from an alluring calendar photo, or a segment of the Discovery or Food Channel or a fabulous location of the newest James Bond film, followed by lots of and lots research. Hmm, riding horse into the hills in southern Spain where jamon is cured, watching a 5 ft wide pan designed for Paella come together, building flavors of chorizo, chicken, rice, saffron, broth, seafood, red peppers, peas, asparagus?  No, how about that wonderful rhythmic name of Montenegro ~ where's that?  Wine touring to Montalcino, Montepulicano, Castellina in Chianti?  Exploring the largest spiritual/religious structure Angkor Wat in Siem Riep, Cambodia.  I love thumbing through volumes of travel books, cookbooks and maps figuring it all out, locating a village or town to call "home," finding an intimate regional cooking class, learning the surrounding town farmer's markets, slowly pulling it all together.  This part is lots of fun!   At this point I have a pretty good idea of what this holiday will look like,  now who's in?  Are you?
